Blue Collar Christianity

“In Eden (the perfect world), the young couple had ministry to do. What task had God given them? What great things did he want them to accomplish? They ate food. They cared for animals. They planted seeds. They prayed. Pleasing God meant nothing more than listening to his words, following him in Eden, and gratefully swimming in the safe waters of each others’ company. They needn’t be anything other than who they were, nowhere other than where they were, and possessing nothing more than what they had for God to be glorified in their lives. God was enough; so were they. There was no striving for ministry advancement, no glad-handing, no networking to get to the next strategic level. More money was not their hope for ministry success, nor did they strategize to enlarge the garden for God. Holding hands, mowing the lawn, resisting foul temptations, and learning to love the one who created them was enough for a significant life.” — Zack Eswine, Sensing Jesus
